Female Pelvic Health Assessment and Consult:
The health of the female pelvis encompasses bladder, bowel and sexual health.
An appointment includes assessment of the function of the pelvic floor and deeper abdominal/postural muscles.
The consult is unique to each individual with the option of a tailored rehab program for pelvic floor and postural function. This can also include the function of the hips, as far as they relate to the pelvis structure and the deeper hip muscles.
Our bodies change throughout life; from internal physiological changes, such as adolescence and menopause; to mechanical strains, such as pregnancies and injuries; and from the aging process itself. The pelvis is impacted by these changes, and can express them as dysfunction.
Angela is a qualified Counsellor and Osteopath and draws on these skills to formulate ongoing plans that support each woman’s unique well-being needs. On top of this, she has an understanding of the hormonal impacts on a woman’s body. She has experience in treatments to address the visceral and musculoskeletal structures of the pelvis; and specialised exercise support for the pelvic floor and abdominal muscles.
During the consult there will be a functional postural assessment, as well as assessment of the pelvic floor tissues. To better understand the pelvic floor health, Angela includes an internal examination, if you prefer to have a Chaperone in attendance please discuss this with Angela. During the appointment, there is plenty of time to talk about health concerns and to establish goals.
