About The Bay Clinic in Broadstairs

The Bay Clinic Broadstairs is owned by Osteopath James Woledge. This is a partner clinic to The Abbeyfields Clinic which he also leads in Suffolk. Over the last 20 years James has built a reputation based on clinical excellence, innovation and teamwork. Investment in Ultrasound Imaging, Focused Shockwave and other pain relieving modalities drives the success that has enabled him to develop a partner clinic in Thanet.

James will be developing a small team of specialists over the next few years to bring the very best in Integrated Pain, Musculoskeletal, and Men’s Health services to East Kent.

James is registered with the General Osteopathic Council and is a member of the Institute of Osteopathy. Having qualified with First Class Honours in 2003 he combined private practice with both undergraduate and postgraduate lecturing in manipulation, sports medicine, tendon related disorders and Shockwave Therapy. He also enjoys hosting the Shockwave Therapy Podcast and collaborating with other health professionals in the specialist arena of Men’s Health conditions such as ED (Erectile Dysfunction) and Chronic Prostatitis (CPPS).

His interests include complex pain syndromes, running biomechanics/injuries, headaches, foot problems, and plantar fasciitis and spinal pain. James combines his osteopathic evaluation with ultrasound imaging to provide an accurate diagnosis before designing an appropriate treatment programme. ‘Seeing’ the state of the tissues with imaging allows for accurate goal setting and treatment design whilst minimising the risk of further injury. He is also a qualified medical acupuncturist and member of the British Medical Acupuncture Association. The focus of James’ day-to-day practice is making sure his patients have a clear understanding of their problem, knowing how best to care for themselves, and realistic expectations of treatment effectiveness and recovery times. He is passionate about working as a team with like-minded specialists to offer evidence-based solutions and not over-treating patients when they could be better served by referring on.
